The Mayflower brought the first group of Pilgrims to North America in 1620. Our family can trace its heritage back to John Alden, William Mullins and Priscilla Mullins of the Mayflower through the maternal side of the family as outlined below. Valid proof of the birth, marriage and death for each Mayflower ancestor and their spouse has been found, and the ancestry has been accepted by the The General Society of Mayflower Descendants. The roadmap used to establish and document the lineage was a summary provided by an unknown ancestor. While it contains some errors (particularly the details of Jonathan Watrous' Revolutionary War service) it has been remarkably accurate and did lead to validation of the lineage.

The same genealogist provided two handwritten journals thoroughly documenting a large piece of Wetherell genealogy, the contents of which are fully reflected in the Family Tree file. The journals were last transcribed in 1905 and possessed at one point by my great grandfather Harry Keeney. Since the contents focus exclusively on the Wetherell lineage I suspect they came from Harry's mother, Rose Wetherell Keeney, daughter of Frances Celia Watrous Wetherell, which would also explain the Watrous detail in the Mayflower summary.
